Terms of sale
1. Who we are
CitedGate is a trading name of AZ4MEDIA LIMITED, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@citedgate.com. Our registered office is Office C, 23/F COS Centre, 56 Tsun Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Company registration number (CR): 2475514. Business registration number (BRN): 67152193.
“You” is the person or company placing the order. Our services are intended for businesses and professionals: by ordering, you confirm that you act for business purposes and not as a consumer.
2. What we sell
We sell sponsored articles that contain a link to your website, published on the news and topical websites listed in our catalogue (the “Sites”). For each article you choose the Site, the page you want to link to, the anchor text and the topic, and we either write the article from your brief or publish the text you provide, after review.
The catalogue shows indicative information about each Site (country, language, topic, estimated traffic, indexed pages). These figures are estimates that change over time and are not a commitment.
3. Ordering and contract
- You build your order in the cart and fill in a short brief for every link. Before paying, you see the exact total, with every option and discount.
- The contract is formed when your payment is confirmed and we send you the order confirmation e-mail.
- Each order has a private tracking link, sent by e-mail, where you follow progress, review drafts and message our team. Keep that link private: anyone who has it can act on your order.
- Options such as a second link in the same article, express publication, the regulated-topic option (section 6) or a multi-site pack are priced as shown at checkout. A requested publication date must respect the minimum lead time displayed in the brief.
4. Prices, payment and taxes
- Prices are in euros and are shown before you pay. The price of the article includes writing it (up to 1,000 words) or reviewing your text, and publishing it.
- You pay by card on a secure page hosted by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card details. A receipt is e-mailed to you.
- We are based in Hong Kong and do not charge VAT or sales tax. If your local law requires you to account for VAT or any other tax on services purchased from abroad (for example under a reverse-charge rule), that is your responsibility. Please check with your accountant. Any withholding tax, bank or currency conversion fee on your side is yours to bear.
- If you need an invoice with specific details (company name, tax number), put them in the billing form when you order.
5. Your brief and your content
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your brief and of any text you supply, and for having the right to use the brand names, claims, images and other material it contains.
- If you supply the text, it must meet the length requested in the brief form (a minimum of 600 and a maximum of 1,000 words). We may edit it lightly for language, format and fit with the Site, and we may ask you to change it.
- If we write the article, we do so from your brief, in the language of the Site, and in the tone you choose. Our team writes it with the help of AI tools, and every draft is reviewed by our team before it is sent to you. We use the keywords and anchor you give us in a natural way. We do not publish promotional claims that we cannot reasonably support.
- We keep final editorial control over what is published on each Site.
6. Content we do not publish, and regulated topics
We may refuse or remove any order or content that is illegal, misleading, or contrary to the editorial policy of the Site. In particular we do not publish content about, or links to:
- adult content, escort services or pornography;
- hate, violence or harassment; malware, phishing or deceptive offers; counterfeit goods; and anything that infringes the rights of others.
Regulated topics. We accept the following topics with a surcharge of 20% on the price of each link ordered (calculated on the article price including a second link if you add one, before any other option or discount): online gambling and betting; payday and high-interest loans; forex signal services; CBD, medicines and pharmaceutical products, and other regulated products.
- You must tick the Regulated topic option in the brief for each link concerned. The surcharge is shown before you pay and appears on your invoice. If we detect such a topic and the option is not ticked, the order cannot be placed until it is.
- These briefs are reviewed by our team before writing, which can add up to 24 hours. We may still decline a brief, or ask you to change it, if it is illegal in the country targeted by the Site, promises guaranteed gains or health benefits, or targets minors.
- You are responsible for holding any licence or authorisation your activity requires, and for the lawfulness of the offer and of the advertising in every country where the article is read. Articles may include age limits, risk warnings or regulatory mentions.
This list is not exhaustive. If we refuse an order for one of these reasons before the article is published, we refund the corresponding link in full, including the regulated-topic surcharge.
7. Draft, approval and publication
- When the article is ready we send you the draft through your tracking link. You can approve it or ask for changes. We handle reasonable change requests within the scope of your original brief; a substantial change to the brief after approval may be treated as a new order.
- Nothing is published without your approval of the draft.
- Most articles go live within 5 business days after your payment and your approval of the draft. This is a target, not a guarantee: the date you choose in the brief, editorial schedules and your own response time all matter.
- Articles are published as sponsored content with a discreet “sponsored” mention, in line with advertising rules and search-engine guidelines. We can agree the exact wording with you.
- Your link is dofollow by default. You can ask for a nofollow or sponsored attribute in the brief. Where the law or a search-engine guideline requires it, we may apply the attribute that complies.
- We send you an e-mail with the live URL when the article is published.
8. How long your link stays online
Your link stays online for at least 12 months from publication. If the article is removed or the link is broken during that period for a reason on our side, we restore it or replace it with a comparable article at no extra cost; if that is not possible, we refund the unused part of the price. This commitment does not apply if the removal is caused by you, for example because you changed or removed the target page, because your website is unavailable, or because your content breached these terms. After 12 months the article may remain online, but we make no commitment about how long.
9. No guarantee of results
Links and brand mentions on indexed, regularly updated news websites can support visibility in search engines and in answers produced by AI assistants. However, search engines and AI systems decide for themselves what to rank, show or cite. We do not guarantee any ranking, traffic, indexing, citation, conversion or other outcome. You use the service at your own commercial risk.
10. Cancellations and refunds
- Before we start working on a link (writing or reviewing): you can cancel it and we refund it in full. Write to support@citedgate.com with your order number.
- After work has started but before publication: the time already spent on the article cannot be recovered, so the link is not refunded, unless we are the cause of the problem (see below).
- After publication: the link is not refundable, except under section 8.
- If we cannot publish a link that you paid for (the Site becomes unavailable, we refuse the content under section 6, or we miss the agreed schedule by a substantial margin and you do not agree to a new date), we refund that link in full.
- Refunds go back to the card used for the payment, normally within 5 to 10 business days.
11. Rights in the content
You keep all rights in the material you provide, and you give us the right to publish, edit and keep it on the Site for the time of the service. For an article that we write, we grant you a non-exclusive licence to use it for your own business purposes once it is published and paid for. The article remains part of the Site and we may keep it there. We do not give you any ownership of the Site, its design or its audience.
12. Liability
- We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable skill and care.
- To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or business opportunity, or for changes to search-engine rankings or visibility.
- To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for the link or links affected.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
- You agree to compensate us for any claim by a third party arising from the content or the link you asked us to publish, where it breaches these terms or the law.
13. Personal data
We use the data you give us (name, e-mail address, company, billing details and your brief) only to process your order, communicate with you about it, keep accounting records and meet our legal obligations. Payments are processed by Stripe, our order e-mails are sent through Brevo, and the content of your brief (subject, keywords, links and notes) is sent to an AI provider, OpenAI, to help draft your article; each acts under its own privacy terms. We do not sell your data. To ask about your data or to have it corrected or deleted where the law allows, write to support@citedgate.com.
14. Governing law and changes
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory rules that apply where you are located.
- We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last changed.
- If a part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
